We are monitoring this developing situation and endeavouring to make decisions with patient, staff and doctor health and safety as our primary concern. Dr Jonker is now offering both face-to-face and Telehealth consultations. Our office will be in contact with patients in the lead up to their appointments to discuss arrangements, guided by the current rulings set out by the Health Department at that time. We are happy to discuss the various face-to-face or Telehealth video-conferencing alternatives to see which would best suit your situation.
Due to social distancing restrictions we have put various measures in place in our rooms including limiting the number of people in our waiting room, and limiting the number of people attending a consultation to two – the patient and one accompanying person. Elective and non-elective surgeries are now proceeding. Our office will be in contact with patients who have had surgeries postponed to discuss re-scheduling and arrangements, guided by the current rulings set out by the Health Department at that time.
Dr Jonker continues to accept new referrals for patients with urgent and non-urgent conditions during this time. Provision has been made for the assessment of urgent cases so that patients requiring critical care for neurosurgical conditions can be reviewed and treated as soon as possible.
